First-Time Caller delivers exactly what it promises: a warm, flirty, slightly chaotic romance built around late‑night radio calls, anonymous confessions, and the slow burn of two people falling for each other without realizing how intertwined their lives already are.

What Works Really Well:

-A charming premise with emotional payoff. The anonymous‑caller dynamic creates a sweet tension.

-Both leads have insecurities, hopes, and messy edges that make them feel real. Their chemistry is both sweet and genuinely funny.

-A balance of humor and heart. Borison’s writing shines when she leans into banter, awkward moments, and the kind of vulnerability that sneaks up on you.

Why It’s Not Quite 5 Stars

Predictability. The plot beats are familiar, which isn’t bad, but it does make the story feel safe rather than surprising. I knew what was coming, but it didn't promise surprise so I guess it delivered what it promised.

Overall, it’s a delightful, cozy romance that delivers on charm, character, and chemistry.

That being said, if you are a reader who prefers minimal to ZERO spice in a book, this isn't for you. So to save you time, here are the Spicy Chapters to skip through if you still want to enjoy the read and overlook the smut.
